Many thanks to everyone who came to see us at Blue Note on a cold Monday night! The place was packed for the 1st set - wow. That was exciting!
Once again, thank you for your continuous support for live music. Hope to see you all soon ... oh yeah, how about tomorrow night at Cleopatra's? It's MY trio this time - YES!

Blue Note, January 29th
*I'll keep this entry on top until the day. New entries are posted below!
I'm playing at Blue Note jazz club on Monday, January 29th!
It's singer Andrew Suvalsky's gig, and I'm a part of The Laurent Medelgi Quartet, the band that's backing up Andy. It's a wonderful band and Andy's a great singer, so come cheer us!
More info here.

An Inconvenient Truth
Finally, I watched An Inconvenient Truth today.
I sort of knew what's told on the DVD, but the way Al Gore presented the issue was graceful, highly organized and brilliant.
As watching him telling the "boiling frog" story, I thought to myself, "Hey, that's the story I read on The Story of B ... I wonder if he read that book."
Well, it doesn't matter whether or not he's a follower of Ishmael or B. The fact that he's been trying to tell these issues by traveling around the world and talking to people face to face in his own words, and that he made this movie and successfully reached even bigger audience is awesome and I'd like to praise him for that.
As a concerned citizen of the Earth and the Community of Life, I launched a project named Planet Music a few years ago, but not much has been done ... I hope this year I can move a little further to make my share of contribution.
Meanwhile ... check out Ishmael and An Inconvenient Truth!

New Year's Party

We had a new year's party on the 2nd. These are traditional Japanese cuisine for new year's. They are all home-made (meaning my roomies and I cooked), except for just a couple of dishes.
We Japanese celebrate the new year's big time - people usually don't work until the 4th of January. These dishes are relatively well-seasoned, so that they last throughout the holidays.
Thanks for a great party, friends!

A Happy New Year
I wish you all a healthy, peaceful new year.
So now this blog is officially open. It's operated as a part of my website, YUTAKAUCHIDA.COM.
I intend to post as often as possible, so that I can keep you interested in my activities and hopefully you won't miss my gigs. Good strategy, right?
Thank you for your continuous love and support for music!
